Spring Recital- Open Mic and Video Presenting
September 2023 marked the start of an amazing year of celebration for Mrs. Denie Riggs, the 60th anniversary of her piano teaching career (and she’s only 59! It’s a miracle!)
We have some things planned in her honor, including at our Spring Recital, May 13-16th, 2024 and events running through the summer.
Here are some ways you can help her celebrate: (By the way, she wants this to be about YOU not her.)

We are inviting past and current student families to share!
Share Your Memory!
We have been told by many that our Early Childhood Music department provided some of the best memories of their children’s childhood. We invite you to Share Your Memory!
Or maybe you studied piano lessons with Mrs. Denie or have taken her online courses. Whatever comes to your mind, we’d love for you to share
your memory.
- Share Your Memory (Open Mic): We are inviting parents/students at each of the 5 in-person Spring Recitals to Share Your Memory of being her student (for about 1-2 minute max, depending on how many we have at each event to share). We need to know who is wanting to participate in this way, so please email Diana@PerfectPraiseMusic.com to sign up. In your email, list which recital you are set for.
- Share Your Memory (Video) You may be a virtual student, live in another state, or just don’t want to speak live. So, in this world of technology, you may submit a video of your favorite memory. (1-2 min max) We will use this later in the year. You may upload it via our Upload Portal. Select Ethan.
Share Your Story!
The benefits of early piano are astounding. If you feel that Denie’s teaching career has influenced your child’s life for success, please Share Your Story!
Mrs. Denie has a special heart for individuals with special learning needs. She authored a book and did a Music and Autism Case Study (2013) We would love for parents to share how the Power of the Piano has benefitted your family member.

Here are the Open Mic specifics for our Spring Recitals 2024:
- Monday 6:00 Zoom Recital- We will give opportunity for parents to Share their Story or Share a Memory. Please sign up as mentioned above, for time management.
- Tuesday 515, 645, Thursday 515 and 645: We will be doing Open Mic in these four events. If you’d like to share, please email by May 1st.
- Wednesday 5:30– Our Early Childhood Music Recital- This event will be a special time of recital, solos, and group singing some of the best known songs written by Mrs. Denie. We will also have a treasure map that leads to a prize. Every child will leave with a super fun gift, celebrating with Mrs. Denie. If any parent would like to Share a Memory, you will have opportunity to do that.
- Wednesday 7:00 Public Reception for Mrs. Denie– Open to the Public. This will be a hour of celebration that is open to the public. Past and present students, current and past staff, friends and family are invited to attend this hour of fun and festivities. Music will be provided by current students (by invitation) and by Mr. John Miller of AB Stephens Music, and Mr. Ethan Collier of Perfect Praise Music. Composing Contest Kickoff! The Spring Recital will kickoff a Composing Contest that will run the summer and cumulate in a
Songwriters Workshop with Lenny LeBlanc and the PPM team. We want every Kids N Keys student, past and present to enter this composing contest! it is also open to the public. Cash Prizes and a Recording Studio appointment for winners. Proceeds from this contest will benefit the Zoe Life Center, Mrs. Denie’s newest special needs project. More info to come.
