Worship Piano ~ Module 1

 

Mrs. Denie Riggs and her Perfect Praise Music teaching team provides training in Worship Piano. Mrs. Denie brings step-by-step guidance from her lifetime of teaching this style of piano improvisation.  

Begin the journey into piano improvisation, of playing worship from chord charts, adding runs, walkdown, bouncing bass and frills that are not written down! Step-by-step our videos will guide you into freedom at the piano; freedom to worship, freedom from being tied to written music.

Learn to play piano like the musicians in a recording study, or for praise bands. 

Prerequisites: To gain full, easy benefit from this course, we suggest:

  • Students have basic music theory and can read treble clef or bass clef notes.
  • Early Childhood Music students need to be in at least Level 5 Kids N Keys.
  • Adult students who have never studied piano, you might want to take our Adult Beginner Piano Online Course to have a basic understanding of reading music, metronome, finger numbers etc. 

New to the piano but sang in chorus or played a band instrument or guitar?  No worries. We will guide you into playing chords with simple videos for you to follow. Soon you will be making joyful music to accompany a praise band, congregation or to sing along with for your own enjoyment. 

In Worship Piano Module 1 you will study:

  • Familiar Songs with C major and G7 chords, then C Major, F Major and G7 chords
  • How to Break the Chains from written music to freedom at the piano 
  • How to Just Sit and Play! without music in front of you, making it up as you go
  • Lend Me Your Ear Tips and Training on how to develop your ear 
  • Sustain Pedal training- are you doing it correctly? 
  • Writing Worship training for composing New Songs to the Lord
