$175* Total Fee. Includes Worship Piano Module 1 Course, Worship Academy Courses, Worship Piano Book, year-end reward, and one lesson a month, meeting the 2nd Monday of each month at 530 Central time.

Worship Piano Academy

Piano Module 1

a 9-month program

Become a student of the piano and of the Bible, as you are trained to in worship concepts, improvisation with chords and lead sheets.

Structure Specifics:

  • Seven Zoom Meets- Once a month, on the 2nd Monday of each month 5:30 pm -6:10 pm (See schedule below)
  • Three Jammin’ with the Band Outings – in-person at Mooresville Road Office, Fridays 5:30 once a quarter (See schedule below)
  • Reward Celebration of Module 1- Date to be set at Christmas Event with other courses/students
  • Discount for attending Summer Worship Camp- July 13 10am -3pm

Academy Structures:

This program requires more than just occasional involvement in the worship mentoring program. It is part of our Worship Academy. There will be worksheets, quizzes, and end of module test.

Attendance at ZoomMeet is required; however, it will be recorded. You may miss up to 2 ZoomMeets across the module, making up the lesson by viewing the Zoom recording.

This course is for worshippers of all ages, from age 6 up. Must have the ability to strike 3 note chords. Kids N Keys Level 3 and above to adult.

Biblical Teaching/Training Topics Taught by Michael and Denie Riggs

Will include:

  • 7 words for Praise (one taught each Zoom Meet) and demonstrations
  • Worship Concepts from the Bible and demonstrations
  • Old Testament Worship (Tabernacle of David Concepts)
  • Training Videos
  • Worksheets and Study Sheets

Musical Teaching/Training Topics- Worship Piano Module 1 Online Course will be the foundation for your training, with additional teaching time at ZoomMeets

Will include:

  • Scales and Theory, the foundation of music
  • What is the difference between a lead sheet and a chord chart?
  • How to know what chords to play in each key?
  • How to use the sustain pedal?
  • How to convert from playing piano by note to playing piano by chord symbols?
  • Composing your own worship song
  • Worksheets and Study Sheets

Summer camp- Saturday July 13, 530 p.m.  (This event is free for those registered for Academy)

Zoom Meet- Monday August 12, 530 p.m.

Zoom Meet- Monday Sept 9, 530 p.m.

Jammin’ with the Band- October 4 (11)- Friday 530 (tentative)

Zoom Meet- Monday October 14, 530 p.m.

Celebration and Reward Meeting- Details to be set, probably as part of Christmas Recital.
