Music Helps Autism was written by Mrs. Denie Riggs after witnessing first-hand the benefits of the piano for students with special needs over the last 20 years.  She compiled the music benefits research and wrote this book, publishing it in March 2013.  She then did the Autism and Music Case Study that summer with incredible findings.  7 non-verbal children enrolled between the ages of 4 and 11 years.  Within the 8 week case study 5 out of 7 children began to say new words.  Six months later another one began speaking full sentences.
